Typical on Location Shoot
Timings
- Smaller shoots are typically booked from 9am – 6pm.
- Larger shoots are often 7am – 7pm.
- The number of people attending will be agreed with you beforehand, it can range from 2 to 15 or more people.
Pre-Arrival
- Your property should be left clean and tidy on the day of the shoot.
- Ensure any personal belongings of significant monetary or sentimental value are removed prior to the crew arriving.
Crew Check In
- We advise walking around the location with the first person to arrive at the shoot.
- Advise where keys are located, how to use e.g. bi-folding doors, which furniture may or may not be removed etc.
Access Areas
- You can of course stay at home during the day of the shoot, however, it is expected that you vacate the booked rooms for the duration of the shoot. This ensures that you do not get ‘under the feet’ of the crew and end up appearing in the shoot itself!
- The rooms that they are shooting in have usually been agreed in advance, but sometimes on the day flexibility may be required as the photographer/crew may want to use an alternative room. They will agree this with you on the day.
- If there are any rooms that you don’t want to be used, we advise putting a sign on the door simply stating, ‘do not enter’.
Amenities
- On the day of the shoot, the client may ask to borrow certain items such as your kettle and cups, iron and ironing board.
- Show them which WC can be used during the shoot.
- If they require a changing room, confirm the room you are happy for them to use.
- We encourage you to provide tea and coffee for the shoots. It is more welcoming and is really appreciated by the photographer / crew. It may even help to secure future bookings!
Crew Check Out
- At the end of the shoot we advise that you walk around the property with the person who you showed around in the morning.
- Check that items of furniture have been placed back in the correct place and that the house has been left clean and tidy.
- If you spot any type of accidental damage then you can mention it to the crew on the day, or we ask that you take some photos and email them into the office and we will liaise with the client.
- Accidental damage to the property is rare, but it can happen. We ensure all our clients have Public Liability Insurance to a minimum of £2 million.
